Exclamation 2021 Jayflight SLX Tank Issue

I recently took my RV in to have it looked at because the sewage tank was full but was not draining. The tech ended up saying it was fine and drained perfectly fine for them, there may have been something blocking the valve. I ended up paying the labor on that because they found nothing wrong. Since then I have noticed underneath the RV, where the tanks are (right above the holding tank drain outlet) it is bulging and firm, like there is something in the tank. I knock on it and it feels full. I picked it up from a renter the other day and went to drain it. There was little to nothing in the black tank but I washed it out and drained the grey tanks also. After everything is drained I check that bulge underneath and it is still there. There is liquid in that tank that is not coming out of the drain and I am not sure why. It drips from underneath the unit and smells like sewage but the tank is empty. Please help!

Strange. Can you see where the outgoing pipe is attached to the tank? Is it in the right place?
So run an old water hose in through the discharge and see what happens!
Stand back, just in case.

I don't have one of these flush valves, but I've heard it does wonders thoroughly cleaning out the black tank.

You might have the dreaded 'poo pyramid'. If you're renting it out to folks and they are not using copious amounts of water, you're going to eventually get a situation like you have. Potentially - a pile of nasty stuck on the bottom of the tank. If this is the case, you're going to need some heavy duty bio-digester type of thing in there.

There are lots of options for treatment; I'll leave the collective wisdom of the forum to chime in as I've never had this problem (we always count 5 Mississippis for #1 and 10 Mississippis for #2 when flushing).

pip6900, I recommend you watch this YouTube video. I found it VERY informative on how to clean out trailer black tanks.

Check your Vent pipe - it may have separated and is leaking front the top of the black tank

Agreed! I think this is one of the most valuable videos I've seen on Youtube.
