A lot has to do with a possible different suspension system on the two trucks too. And if your previous truck was two wheel drive and you updated to a four wheel drive. The most important part is meshing the two pieces up on a somewhat level plane when rigged. It may be that you may not be able to use the same hitch, which may not have the correct hitch shank for the drop, if your truck is higher. You can actually update that portion of a current hitch, with additional length and additional holes to offset the increased truck height.
I also know from my own personal upgrade that the trailer hitch coupler location created a bit of a problem when I upgraded. If you have the under the frame coupler, a standard reply for hitch height may not apply. What type or brand hitch arrangement are you currently using now? You may be limited in adjustment with the E 2 Fastway hitch arrangement without speaking with the manufacturer directly. The frame bracket height coupled with the amount of washers at the hitch needed to be changed with mine so that the bars would work correctly with tension on the brackets and in keeping with the two units level when towing.
