2024 Jayfeather Dining table legs.

The legs for this new table constantly want to collapse when trying to put the table in place. Am I missing a piece that locks them in place?

Show the mechanism in a picture.

You took the time to post a photo. Sorry but I can't help as I don't have the same type. But it looks like that knurled knob would need to be tightened and maybe it would force the threaded portion through a hole?

Fist thing I thought when I saw it in a video was...ohhh, that's gonna be a problem. I only said this to myself b/c I have a couple Harbor Freight roller supports with this same type leg and I hate them! You can't move them w/o the leg wanting to fold up!

And here you are, pretty much confirming what I was thinking. Swap out that leg system w/something else -elliptical type or dual folding.

I bought a 2024 in february. waiting for repairs still before I pick it up (next week I am told )

Anyway, I saw this table leg mess and the first mod I want to do is replace it with a normal pair of table legs.
Is the floor in the 2024 the same as the years before that had normal table leg where there was a base mounted on the floor, a pole sticks in the base than you set the table top on the poles?
I picture this floor is some thin plywood with 1" of foam under it than another sheet of thin plywood. is it 1/2" plywood or 1/4"?
do I need to use 1.5" screws on the base to catch the plywood on both sides of the foam?

Its only 2 of us, and I don't need to ever take down the table, now I am stuck required to take down the table to move the camper now.

The salesman says "you can take the table outside".
No, that is what the table under the sofa part of the murphy bed is for

Just watched a video for a 2024 Jay Feather and it seems they are going back to the elliptical style table leg. I knew that weird 'V leg' was gong to be a complaint/problem for a lot of new owners.

Thats a lagun type leg. The dining table leg on the Jay Feather was swapped from elliptical to an inverted 'V' type, where one leg flipped out for support. The minute I saw it I recognized it, as I have a couple of support rollers for wood working with those legs and they're a PIA. They're always folding up on themselves if you move the unit just a little bit. Sure enough the original poster was complaining of the same thing happening to her table. I think there were some pinching/safety issues, too.

They must've received enough complaints pretty early on, as it was the early 24's I believe they started using the leg and now, not even 5 months into 2024 they are going back to the elliptical type leg.

What is an elliptical type leg?
is it the round tube that slides in to mount on floor and under table?

No. It's a type of mechanism where the table kind of goes in a half moon motion, to the side, as it is lowering.

Here is a webpage that sells the base ad a link to a video that shows how they work.

the table base Gabby shows is just as bad as the one mine came with. I want to go to the black tubes I show in my link above. I see the 2023 21MML had them. I don't want to have to put the table down every time I move the RV. Wonder why Jayco even changed from the tubes?

Lots of people don't like how the tubes make the table stationary, when the table is in use.
