23rlsw finally here

Just got a call that my TT has finally arrived at the dealer. 106 days (15 weeks).

Will be doing the PDI later next week. Now begins the interesting part.

May go to the dealer tomorrow to see if I can get a peek at it.

Hope the quality control was good on the day it was built. We'll see.

I got all kinds of mods to do with parts and accessories burning a hole on my work bench.

Then the shake down cruise the end of this month. Wireman

Congrats. Must be exciting. Could you do the pdi tomorrow and take it home if you wanted to? If I went and looked I'd have a hard time leaving it behind...

I know I sure did. Had to wait nearly 2 months before I could go pick it up. And now here it is still sitting in my driveway, 3 months later. But we WILL hit the road with our new 23RLSW in just 3 weeks, with a test weekend at a nearby campground.

Congrats, Wireman! Enjoy!!!

Roger

I went and looked at mine as soon as it came in and before anyone at the dealership looked at it. I ended up making a list of about 20 issues I wanted looked at. Then when I went through the PDI yesterday they had all the items done ( 3 weeks later) except for a couple because they were waiting on parts from Jayco. Brought it home knowing I'll need to bring it back but everything is functional and issues to be fixed are just cosmetic.

Go take a look! Make a list. Decals, caulk smeared here and there door catches loose, window shade alignment, broken pull chain on ceiling fan, etc. All this type of stuff can be written down so it taken care of when you actually have a delivery date. Expect it to be dirty. Saw dust etc.

Good luck!

No PDI tomorrow. They are booked up for a week. Just want to look at it warts and all and see if all the options are there make sure it wasn't a crank call.

15 weeks felt like forever. Not sure if it was towed or hauled on a low boy.

Congrats wireman!

Hope you are as lucky as we were with our 23RLSW we have gone out now 6 times since December and have had a couple very minor issues with ours that I fixed myself. (my wife says I am anal)

We looking forward to our two week trip soon!

May the camping gods be with you on yours!

Got to take a look at it last SAT. They actually had it cleaned up fairly well. Doing the walk through today and getting the Husky Centerline TS WDH setup also.

Added a slide topper. Hopefully that will be installed and the TT will be ready to go.

Then I'll be busy doing all the mod's and organizing before our first outing the end of the month.

Power cord conversion, Maxi-air vent cover, adding my own TV's, and a bunch of other little things.

Steve,

I did the slide topper, too. This may get to you a little late, but check the wall paneling *behind* the bed. There's a piece there in mine that clearly did not get stapled to the wall properly. Gonna have to talk it over with the dealer at some point. You have to slide the mattress away from the front wall to see the piece I'm talking about; we didn't do that during our PDI.

Picked up my TT late yesterday. Did the walk thru and couldn't find any issues. I'd like to post a pic but can't figure out how to get the image on here.

Have a photo saved in the my pictures file on the computer but when I try to copy and paste , doesn't work. Asks for a URL ?

Yay!! At our end we're closing in on our first outing with our new 23RLSW, now less than 3 weeks away. DW and I went out and made up the bed for the first time yesterday; rolled up the brown spread and packed it away. Now the bedroom is very "homey" and welcoming.

As a P.S., have you noticed that the bedside 'tables' - which are very nice - at least appear to be empty space? I'm going to think about ways we can make use of that space, as a future mod.

Roger
