24 or 30 inch jacks ( newbie)

Hello...all
I am not to new to RVs but I am finding out the hard way about the maintenance the towing, the leaks, the repairs etc...we have a 99 3120 Designer series TT...looking forward to getting to know you all better...We live in SW Florida...the wife, two boys ( one in college) and our lab Scout...

here is one of a thousand questions I will have for you folks...

My trailer sits ( bottom of frame) 24 inches off the ground at dead level..I damaged one of the jacks and now I want to replace all 4...they are 24in and I need concrete blocks to make the jacks work..should I or can I just order 30in with no issues...as soon as I know how I will add pics...again my name is Neal...and I look fwd to meeting you all...

IMHO if your unit sits at 24" above the ground dead level you might be better off getting the 30" jacks. Alot easier and less weight than carrying around the concrete blocks. But, I'd make sure they won't stick out to far on the sides of your camper when cranked up in the travel position.

OK that's one question, 999 to go .

Concrete blocks are pretty heavy and subject to crumbling. With the taller jacks you can go to the lighter weight "feet" or just use 2 by's.

You could also buy a bag of plastic blocks at Wall Mart they are light and stack really easy. Most of the time you will need to put something under the foot of the jack to keep it from sinking into the ground so you will need to carry something anyway.

I would go with the 30" jacks and a few sets of Lynx blocks. Try not to crank the jacks down more than half way you will get less bounce in the TT.

Thanks guys...I am going to crank the 24s down I have and see where I am at...I still feel 30's are the answer and of course I need blacks under them..my wife works at a place that builds thinks with carbon fiber so I grab all the scrap I can and use that for blocks..super light and super strong...thank god its free scraps...again thanks for the advice...is there a posting limit before you can post pics etc...

Neal...
