26BH add master bedroom door

Hi folks, we are looking at a new 2019 26BH, it seems like a common floor plan throughout manufactures, we had a X17Z now want the jayflight but would prefer a master bedroom door, has anyone done this mod? I searched forum as well as internet and haven’t found anything unless I’m not looking hard enough or using wrong search words.

I really can't see how you would add a pocket or swing door in a 26BH without removing the sofa. The space between the sofa wall and the end of the bed is way too narrow for a pocket door. A framed swing door would have to be very narrow to fit between the couch and the wall...I just don' see how its possible.

you might be able to do something like a barn door style, hanging from a track attached to the ceiling.

I did something similar at home for a closet, it was a tall odd size opening in a load bearing wall. so no option to do a pocket door. I built a wall track with a piece of 2" flat bar, and garage door pully wheels for the rollers.

in the 26bh, there is not a lot of space between the bedroom wall and the bed, you'll want to build a door that is thin.

alternatively you can go with a heavier blackout curtain.

Anyone else have any ideas?

I've got a 2017 26.5BHS Fifth Wheel - and the master has a sliding door, hung from the ceiling. There's no lock, nor even a latch for closed, but it's not to keep the kids out - it's more for noise separation and the thought of privacy.

I don't think it would be all too hard to add one to your 26BH... it will just have to be on the bedroom side of the wall.
