26bh vs 264bhw

Anyone have an opinion as to if the 26BH is worth an additional 4K?

I bought the 264bhw last year. I added sink covers, stove cover, propane cover all from amazon. Honestly I couldn't justify spending the extra 4 grand on upgrading to the 26bh and didn't really see what the 4 grand gets you. Just my opinion we are really happy with our choice.

When we looked at 2015's, our difference was only around $1800. The 26BH had more storage, the entertainment setup (including TV), a power jack, and an outside mini fridge. So, for us, it was worth the difference. The storage (over the couch and master bed) is one that could not be easily changed - the rest of the stuff could be added after purchase - but when you add it all up, it came pretty close to the difference. I realize this was a different year model, and based on prices at the dealer we were working with, but it might help you decide...

Pretty sure there are major construction benefits the 26bh offers over the 264bhw... Most important is the plywood floor instead of the "foam layered wood" they use on their light weight models.
Might be worth looking into the details of the differences before you buy..

They are built the exact same just the 26bh has more "stuff" like few more cupboards, tv, power jack ect...

We like our 264BHW, at purchase price difference was about $3000 to go up to the 26BH, I've done some minor improvements to interior, but otherwise just fine. Also like the lighter weight for our TV...
FYI believe the televisions in all models are the cheapest made (work okay though). We go a Samsung 32" LED 1080P that we team up with Blue Ray player (not an option I believe in any trailer)

One difference (last I knew!) is the suspension. The SLX has a lower gvwr and C C than the Flight 26 BH. So depending on how you load you could be near or even over the gvwr of the 264,mbut still have room left with the 26 BH. Myself, j would rather have more cushion than be near max if/when possible.

Tire size? Propane tanks 20 vs 30 lbs maybe??? Fridge size? WH gas only in the 264, with electric option on 26? Same stabilizer jacks or are they different? Electric vs manual awning? Just trying to think of some possibilities of what may be different that isn't obvious.

For us, ccc was something I was looking for. Even found some trailer manufactures have added a portion of the actual tw to the total axles rating for a higher gvwr!!! One trailer we looked at (same exact floor plan as ours) had 2-4400lb axles, but a 95XXlb (don't recall exact amount) gvwr!!! Now how does that add up??? Lol

Best thing to do is go over them both with a fine tooth comb, and maybe even write out the differences on paper for each model to compare.

The 26BH weighs 500lbs more. For us that was a big deal. I spent the first week modding my trailer to get better use of the storage. In the long run we are thrilled with our choice of the 264bhw

Wasn't sure what all options the SLX models have compared to the Flights. If they are that close option wise it would be hard to justify spending the extra cash!!!

I am consistently impressed by the value that the 26BH brings to the table. My son is looking for his 1st TT and with us having owned a 2009 26BH previously, he put it on his list of candidates. RVone /RVDirect runs a perpetual "special" on this unit with the chill 'n stor fridge option for $15,995 + taxes. At their show this past weekend with little prompting, they tossed in Max Air vents, spare tire/carrier/cover setup, Reese DC W/D hitch, and a P3 brake controller all installed while dropping the price to $15,995 out the door AFTER taxes. I give him credit for not saying yes already. To me, I don't see him finding anything better in terms of value for a 1st time buyer.

That sounds like a very fair deal. Man, I paid $18K CDN for my 2013 26BH, used, last summer!

The 26BH can also be equipped to carry 2x the water of the 24bhw. That is a major consideration for someone who dry camps.

So I just received the quote and the difference between the two is less than 2k so I'm pulling the trigger on the 26BH.

So what kind of WDH should I try to get thrown in. A Hensley is out of the question I know. Any recommendations...Reese, Equalizer etc.

I think you will be happy you got the 26BH...

I have a Reese Dual Cam and like it a lot. It took a little time to set up properly (dealer didn't do the best job), but it works great.

For what I've been seeing, the difference is about $3k. I too am struggling with this same decision. The BH has a gas/electric water heater and cabinets over the couch. Where the BH really differs is if you want to pay for the elite and get the thermal package and larger fresh water tank.
