27DSRL Tongue Weight % Less than 10%--Any Problems?

Trying to figure which travel trailer to get, like the light tongue weight and floor plan of the 27 DSRL but got to wondering the tongue weight at 510# in brochure is less than 10%-15% recommended tongue weight. Have any of you owners had any sway or pulling problems? How does your 27 DSRL pull?

Did you add in the weight of full propane tanks, battery and stuff in front storage?

Keep in mind that the published weights (web site, brochures, etc.) don't reflect the actual "Ship Weights" of the TT. There will be a yellow weight sticker on the TT with the actual "Shipped" UVW and CCC.

After you add propane, battery and your "stuff" that will change. I would start by adding 800-1000# to the base TT weight and estimate the tongue at 13% of that. If the TV is up to the job then you'd be safe to jump in. JMHO

I have a 2014 White Hawk DSRL which left the factory at 5933 nearly 500 pounds more than the brochure weight. However it pulls great with my Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi. I think the wide axles really help.

Our 27 DSRL pulls great, without sway. I do use a Blue Ox Pro w/1000lb bars. As Allen B above said ours also left the Factory at over 500 lbs heavier that the website or brochure. Weight on the Hitch will be well within the %. I pull with a GMC Sierra 1500 5.4.
Was out over the weekend looking @ 2500s & F250s. We are planning on heading out West next year and do want the extra HP, Torque, Rugged frame/suspension, etc to pull those Mountains.

I'm kind of a step ahead of RSerendipity. I pulled a 27DSRL last year with a 2012 5.3 Silverado w/tow package. The TT handled great with the truck but I found the 5.3 a little anemic on the slightest of hills. I plan to take mine out west this year so I upgraded to a GMC 3500 Duramax. A bit of an overkill for the 27DSRL but I wanted the TV capacity to go to a larger TT - probably a 5er - in a couple of years.

I think that the #510 is a typing error. Should be #610. Look at previous years.

My tongue weight is between #900 and #1000 depending on how I load.

Thanks one and all for great replies. The one I saw at lot had listed weight of 5800# about 400# over brochure weight. I don't know about 510# brochure tongue weight, it is same in 2013 and 2014 brochures I have. Do you have to add for propane tanks and battery as some one pointed out to me in another post, I would think since they are standard equipment they would be in base weight. I had not thought of weight in storage cubby at front of trailer that would add to tongue and I use a Hensley hitch that would add another 50-75 lbs. Sounds like this trailer would fit our Ford F150 best. The Forrest River models such as Flagstaff all have tongue weights base of 650-720# which gets me to my max pretty fast. I have max 1050 weight dist. hitch, max total weight on truck 1550 and 9600 tow capacity with our 3.55 gears, max tow crew cab FX4 F150. We currently have a Flagstaff 2008, 27' weighs 4700 empty. We did pull with Avalance and I hear you on 5.3 power, it made it but no extra. The Eco Boost 6 in the Ford handles current trailer with ease and gets some better pulling milage and about 1-2 mile better empty.
