I was fiddling with the duct work up there not long ago, and it seems that it would be super easy to duct in the second unit. I wonder if that's how they come from the factory? If you have a "chill grill" installed like the main unit has, you can dump most of the air in the bedroom if you want, or you can close off the dumps and let it all go through the ducts.

Maybe I can get them to install the outside unit only, and I can do the rest of the install and clean up the trim myself? That way I could have it ducted in if I wanted... And they would be doing all the hardest parts of the install. It would be nice to have it ducted in, but not strictly necessary I guess...
The factory 2nd units are not ducted. I think in some of the larger/fancier 5th wheels they do have dual ducted units but not the jay flights. We had the factory installed 2nd unit in our 32IBTS and rarely ran it at night. Once the daytime temps would drop the main unit could carry the load and we just set the fan to on instead of auto since it seemed to keep the kids asleep longer in the morning.

It would be interesting to see you can tie that 2nd one into the ducts though.

I'll post a writeup whenever I finally get around to it. Could be a while though since we're having moderate to severe cash flow problems! LOL! 'Tis the season!

Hey Vaquero, good question for the OP, I would be interested in his decisions also. Are you heading that way for work? I just came through Carlsbad this afternoon on my way to El Paso. Things sure are slow around that area right now. Lots of things for sale though if you are shopping.

Yes, for work.
We've got a guy out there who hasn't had a day off since mid September.
So, I get to take a turn at Orla.
