Is that an OEM shipping / packing that wasn't removed before it was delivered? I have never pulled my cover to see what interference or air flow restriction the foam might be causing.

I hate that POS digital thermostat Dometic came up with. Two different trailers with the same crap. They only work with the cover off. Leave the cover on and roll the dice on what setting it will get on.

Which one are you talking about? Our Dometic is awesome compared to the Coleman that was on our last trailer.

The one with capacitive touch controls. You touch a button and it changes to Celcius, or jumps 20 degrees, or switches to the furnace, or... you get my point.

I also have a 2017 Jayflight 29RKS. The thermostat is a Coleman. I would like to replace with digital, but not sure what to replace it with. Any advice?

I have the Dometic CT thermostat on my 2019 Jayflight. I’m suspecting that it is giving me problems with the AC, and I would like to replace it with the analog model I used to have. Any issues doing that?

Got a e-mail back from Jayco and was told that Dometic says that a 20 degree difference is within limits for that thermostat. I wrote back and well lets just say that they know how I feel about that.

I have a 2018 Jayco TT 287bhs with a 15,000 BTU Dometic A/C. Our last camping trip I had trouble with the capacitive touch thermostat when using the A/C. It would only run one cycle with the compressor running. I had it set on low fan speed when that happened. I finally figured out to set it to high fan speed and then it ran fine after that. I had run it a low speed previously with no problems, but apparently it sensed an overheating condition in the compressor at low speed. I should also mention that before going on the camping trip I tried to turn on the A/C and the thermostat went "crazy", displaying all kind of digits, etc., then went to -00-. I turned off the breaker to reset it and then it worked fine, except for what I mentioned above. Also before we left on the camping trip I found a yellow jackets going into the roof unit of the A/C, sprayed them good, but don't know if their nest, which I could not see, may have caused any problems. I'll have to pull the cover and check it out.

Thumbs up Dometic Capacitive Touch Thermostat great service

Had problem with Dometic capacitive touch thermostat jumping around going crazy etc. I called Dometic and talked to CODY in customer service and she is sending out a new one to our RV Park in Holbrook AZ. Very helpful and nice and it shipped today and will be here in 3 to 4 days. What great service. Thank you CODY.

Instead of changing the thermostat take the cover off the new one and try it on the old thermostat. That's all I did and it works fine.

Go to https://www.makariosrv.com/rv-thermostats/ and enter your info. It will give you the recommended direct swap out digital replacement. Mine worked perfectly.

Thanks for the info and link. Is yours a Dometic? Where did you find the info on your unit?

Mine was a Coleman. I unscrewed the unit from the wall and read the part number off the back. No need to undo wires. Just the mounting screws.
