29qbs

We've had our eye on a 29QBS, but it now says "Dealer Stock Only" on Jayco's website. Anyone know if there is a similar replacement slated, or if we should be searching hard for one optioned the way we want?

I was told by RV One Superstores sales person 29qbs is discontinued. No idea if that's actually true or just another misinformed salesman. We jumped on a new, well priced 2016 last month and really like the floor plan. Didn't have some of the options we wanted (polar package, 2nd fresh water tank, or outdoor kitchen), but price made up for these and have more storage w/o the outdoor kitchen. Really notice a difference towing it vs my 23ss roo though. Good luck in your decision!

We don't want the outdoor kitchen, and would prefer the storage. I have a 3-burner Campchef that we cook almost everything on. We def wanted the second fresh tank, and polar package(the whole Baja pacakge really). It seems like every bunkhouse now has some level of outdoor kitchen standard. I would end up ripping into my brand new trailer to reclaim that as storage space. I guess the good news is that space is big, and the door stays open.

Ripping out the outdoor kitchen has pro's and cons. You lose one bunk w/ the outdoor kitchen but you gain a very large door outside. My quad bunk 2016 29qbs has the large storage under that bunk but a pretty tiny door (height wise) for the volume of space I'm trying to access. I'm trying it for a season to see if it is annoying enough that I'd want to put a bigger door in or not.

See picture of my small door to access the 40"x76" storage compartment.

That's a bummer if they discontinue it. "Dealer stock only" usually means you can't order it. I LOVE my 2015 with the outdoor kitchen, but understand there are those that don't.

Just an FYI, you could probably leave the countertop, sink and stove where they are and simply remove the fridge and cabinets and have a very large storage space without much disassembly at all.

5 kids. We need the bunk! Your right though. Why not put a bigger door on such a large storage space? I wonder that all the time on mine. I have to have my wife or kids to reach stuff in the back, because my chest gets stuck when I try to get back there.

We have a 29BHDS, it was sold in 2015 and discontinued in 17, dealer stock only now. 32IBTS did the same thing, not sold terribly long it seems.

The staples seem to be the 28BHBE and the 32BHDS. We had a terrible time finding our trailer anywhere in stock, we ended up ordering it without seeing it as a 2015 but we got a 2016. I think the dealers buy a few models they know they sell a lot of, like those above, and the ones they don't order regularly seem to not last long. Just a guess. We were very hesitant to order what we could not at least see an example of, I am sure others are as well.

We had got ours due to the water tank capacity and we wanted the outside fridge and outdoor bathroom entrance. Our outside kitchen is a small one but it has a fridge and burner, jammed under one of the 2 queen bunks along with the water heater and a huge storage area accessible from the rear. We also didn't want the trailer over 35 feet so we could stay in older national park areas (ours is 34'11" and long enough!)

We have a 2017 29 QBS that we bought in may of 16. We have 6 kids and did not want the outdoor kitchen either. We ended up ordering ours since we could not find one equipped the way we wanted. From what I understand they discontinued this floor plan last fall and replaced it with the 294QBSW Jayflight SLX. Looking at rv trader there are still a few new ones out there without the outdoor kitchen.

Not impressed with the SLX models I've seen. They seem cheap and flimsy, and the tanks are small(like my current trailer).

We love ours, it's a 29QBH which was the former numbering on the 29QBS.

The QBH was deal stock only, then the next year the QBS was released. I think having more than one quad bunk floorplan is necessary and been in existence for quite a while.

We too have no interest in the outdoor kitchen, preferred the 4th bunk.

As for the small door to access the storage, it's really quite manageable.

How do you manage it? The only thing I can load under the rear bunks in my BHBE are chairs with one end facing me, and it not a very efficient use if the space.. I can't get in much past my shoulder. If one of my kids is close I send them in after stuff, or have my wife get it(she's as tall as I am, but not nearly as thick thank goodness), or have one of them lift the bunk and push it from the inside.

On what would be the out door kitchen side I store the following...
- 2 zero gravity chairs
- 4 bag type folding chair
- 1 huge (12x16) awning mat
- 1 small (6x8) awning mat
- 2 collapsible trash cans
- misc item (bike locks, bike pumps, kite, dog tie out)

All of these are flat items that make it through the door with ease and stack nicely.

One the opposite side I keep all my hook-up items.

In totes---
- three totes (fresh water, grey water, electric)

Not in totes
- 2 25' fresh water hoses
- 1 25' grey water/clean up hose
- 12' collapsible ladder
- 1 broom

So yeah, I have no issue fully using the storage. Not saying I wouldn't prefer larger doors, but I wouldn't modify the trailer change them.
