30 amp service problem

At a Jellystone in Delaware. Running ac my surge protector is saying 20 amp on 30 amp. Question will it be ok to run the camper on 50 amp breaker. With adapter

Your surge protector is giving you the amount of amps you're using, not what's available. And yes you.can safely use the 50 amp outlet.

You will not gain anything by using the 50 amp plug but your not going to hurt anything either.. Happy Camping

Sometimes you gain a better receptacle using the 50 amp connection. The 30 amp connection is what most folks use, and so it's the most worn. The 50 amp receptacle is the least used, so it might be a tighter fit.

Yeah the 50 amp does have a tighter fit. When we were using microwave and ac on 30;amp outlet it kept blowing the breaker. I did not realize my surge suppressor told me amp I was using. Thought it told me what the outlet was putting out. Before the breaker blew on the 30 amp I saw 29 amps. My surge suppressor should be ok plugged into 50 amp outlet

If your trailer is set up for 30 amp service you are very close to blowing the circuit breaker in the trailer. A little power management is need. If the water heater is on electric turn it to gas. Shut off one high current device before using another. Hair dryers, toasters, and other devices can only be used one at a time.

...But you still have a main breaker in the rig that will limit your usage to 30a before tripping.

My last 2 cg my surge protector showed reverse polarity while I was plugged into the 30amp receptacle so i just used an adaptor and plugged into the 50 and I was good to go.
