30 or 50 Amp Panel?

If I wanted to go from 30 to 50 amps in our 2011 Eagle 320RLDS in order to add a second ac would the existing wiring handle the change?

Also I just read here that my existing 30 amp circuit breaker panel may actually be a 50 amp unit that they are only using 1/2 of. The other leg that would be available. Any idea if that means existing wiring is sufficient? (I can't check it myself now)

I'll contact Jayco Monday but info here has always been helpful.

Craig if you still have the owners manual check it out. Or get the number off of the unit and check it out on line. I can see them putting a 50 amp in a Class C coach and only using 30 amps. But I cannot see that in a travel trailer. Later Ernie

i had a second AC added to my jayco. I had it wired independent of the factory 30 amp system.

the installer wired a 20 amp plug on the outside of the camper.

it goes to a small breaker under the kitchen sink.

then to the second AC.

this allows you to stay in a 30 amp site. and if there is an additional 20/ or 15 amp connection in the box you can use the second AC too.

if you stay in a 50 amp site and there is no 20/15 amp outlet available then you can use a dog bone adapter
