30A to 50A Distribution Panel

I am probably showing my ignorance here, but I would like to replace my 30A shore power feed and distribution panel with a 50A. I was planning on replacing the shore power cable/plugs and connecters with 50A components. And then also replace the actual distribution panel with a Progressive Dynamics RV Power Control Center with AC/DC Panel and Converter Charger - 60 Amp. Nothing downstream of that should change. I am hoping that this will allow me to run the A/C and microwave and a blender without tripping the shore feed breaker. Does that sound reasonable? Thanks!

Welcome aboard!

In theory this will work. There is a chance that all 3 will cycle on at the same moment any you might still pop a breaker.

Everything from the circuit breaker panel to the shore power plug needs to be replaced.

Question; do the places you go have 50 amp shore power connections? If not, you will still pop the shore power 30 amp breaker.

You do need to make sure to have a 30 to 50 amp doggone for CGs that do not have 50 amp service.

Thanks! I forgot to mention that I would be getting the 50A to 30A dogbone for when I will not have a 50A shore power connection. Vegas in the summer is brutal and the A/C pretty much never stops. So the ability to have a bit more current overhead would be invaluable! Thanks again for your comments!

Remember when you use the 50 to 30 dog bone you will still be limited to 30 amps.....
