32BHDS Outdoor Kitchen Door

We got a 32 BHDS one year ago. When opening the Outdoor Kitchen Door after a rain, water would run out from the latch (water was being held in the door). The latch plate was also showing rust from the water.

I stored the trailer indoors for the winter, and now taking the trailer back to the dealer to fix. Did anybody else have this issue? This has been the only warranty issue I have found with the trailer.

I have read a few posts where people have stated the outdoor kitchen door was leaking. Most had to readjust the hinges to get the door to seal correctly. One post even mentioned the dealer ordering him a new storage door.

No issues with ours leaking, whether it is on site or after driving through downpours. Ditto what usmc616 said, I have seen it mentioned elsewhere.

I dropped it off at the dealer on Friday. I showed them where the water was running out of the latch on the bottom when opening the door. They will investigate. They noticed that all the latch handle screws and nuts on the inside were rusting.

Will keep everybody informed.

I also asked if they ever put an awning over the outdoor kitchen. She was going to check to see if it could be done. That is the one thing that I would really like!

Mine is also doing this but have not got it in yet to be fixed. The other person who got a new door has said it did not work. (same issue)

I have tried caulking behind the door latches and this did not help either.

In my opinion the source of the leak is in the door latches or frim the hinge up top. Ibtried drilling two weep holes in the bottom of the door frame (underneath) to get the water to drain there instead of at that latch. This did not solve which makes me think its not the hinge up top. I need to get this in but keep it on a seasonal site. We all need to call jayco to get a resolution as the dealers don't seem to know the issue and I've had a hard time finding others with the issue!

Agree... I was very surprised myself to see this happen. I am going to look at again tomorrow night. I might take the slam latches off and investigate.

I have not heard back from Dealer. I will let you know what they said they did, and if it works (it better).
