330rlts

I am thinking of buying a 330RLTS trailer. I have a Chevy 2500 HD with 4.10 and the tow package, with a 6.0 V/8. I am rated at 10100 GVWR. The trailer is dry wt.8770 GVWR 11250. If I am careful loading the trailer, is my truck big enough to handle this trailer. What are 330RLTS owners using.

Hi

You will need to know all of your weight allowances. You need to know the following:

Towable weight
gross combined weight
front axle weight rating
rear axle weight rating
payload
tongue weight rating
Tire load rating
trailer weight when fully loaded

Once u have all of this info then you can calculate. Also plan on a good weight distributrion hitch as it will reduce you sway and tongue weight

I ordered a 2012 33 rlds and towing it with a f150 supercrew HD with ecoboost. I am within the limits without having to go to a 250 series.

Welcome to the forum, edamundsen! Good tips from RaveOn. There are some members here that own and pull that trailer, perhaps they can chime in and give you some advice. There are also some sticky threads on weights and towing in the towing and tow vehicles forum.

We have a 330RLTS and tow it with a 3500 Dodge SRW with the Cummins engine. I added air bags to help keep things level. It tows great.

My brother in law has a 320RLDS and tows with a Ford 2500. He has the 5.4 gas engine and I am not sure what differential he has. He also has air bags.

Don't expect the gas engine to zip up hills.

I bet they're just funnin' ya. It does conjure up a humorous image. Maybe next time, you can take a photo before you head out.

Chevy 2500HD

I had a chevy 2500HD with the 6.0 and 4.10 rear end/towing package. I was towing a 2004 29FBS that weighed about the same as your camper. The truck struggled the whole time, the MPG was about 6. My father's half -ton chevy pulled the camper better than my 6.0 2500HD. I upgraded to the same truck, but I now have a duramax. I also bought a 2010 365 BHS-15,500 fully loaded. The fifth wheel with a gooseneck adapter pulls so much better than the tongue pull. The duramax pulls it great and MPG is 10-12.
