6gal Dometic Water Heater propane/air mixture adjustment question

I have a 2019 Jayco Jayflight SLX8 212QB with a propane-only hot water heater, its a Dometic 6gallon. The Jayco manual says that when lit, the burner should have a blue flame visible in the burn chamber (vice 'yellow' flame) during operation. Manual also says adjust the sliding tubular air door on the heater propane feed pipe to get the flame blue. For me, it seems like my flame is mostly yellow, with about 1/2 to 1 inch of blue flame at the very tip of the burner. I tried adjusting the air tube back and forth and the flame pretty much stays the same, so I adjusted it back to 1/2 open - the flame itself is forceful and the heater does a great job of heating up the water, no problems at all with operation .... but I'm wondering if I'm really supposed to be seeing a full blue flame (like on a propane torch). Again, the heater works fine so it's no big deal to me if it's not all blue. Anybody run into this issue with water heater?

Yellow tipped flames are normal for propane.

Our air adjustment is also at 1/4", but it's an Atwood. I don't believe it should make any difference on which brand you have. There may be something in the air tube that's affecting it, like a spider web. It doesn't take much to affect the flame.

I hear Dometic, Atwood and Suburban are all the same company now. Is that correct?

Dometic and Atwood are now the same. Suburban is owned by Airexcel.
