A little disappointed in Jayco

I'm just venting here so please don't slam me too harshly.
I had a 26 foot Jayco for about 10 years. I never had a single problem with it so I purchases a 2014 Jayco Swift last Fall. Since then my grey water holding tank leaks, my pump won't stop cycling (no leaks), my gas LP gauge always shows green even with both tanks empty and I have never been able to get one TV channel even though I'm not in a remote area.
I know all these things can be fixed but now I have to tow my camper 150 miles to the dealer for repairs.
Pretty disappointed in Jayco now.

I'll say the same thing I've said before. With the exception of the TV channels and that is still questionable those are all things you dealer should have checked before giving you the unit. Poor dealer prep/PDI in my opinion.

None of the items you mentioned were made by Jayco. Other than maybe the LP gauge they should have been identified during inspection.

Welcome to JOF

Contact Jayco directly and see if they have an approved RV repair facility closer to your home base that can address warranty claim items. Jayco does have these type of facilities throughout the US.

Hi Bob,
Thank you for some great advice. I did call Jayco and they gave me a phone number of another authorized Jayco dealer only 75 miles away.
The trouble is I just called and they refused to take my unit in for repair. Yup, I was told "we are too backed up with our own unites to service yours"
Now, I'm even more disappointed in Jayco.

Unfortunately Jayco cannot make the non selling dealer do the repairs. I know it stinks, but that seems to be the standard in the RV industry. Many dealers will not do warranty service on units they do not sell, or will make you wait a long time.

BLEVINS MOTORS INC. in Potsdam NY is a Jayco dealer.
They are the people I called.
Thanks!

Why is it JAYCO's fault? That is normal in the RV Industry since dealers are not "Product Exclsuive" like automobiles. You chose to buy 150 miles from home, that was your decision. You will find warning after warning about just those issues of not getting service from a non selling dealer.

I agree!! Lets say lesson learned on my part but that is not why I'm disappointed in Jayco. The distance (my fault) only exasperated the issue.
No, what I am saying is a brand new $23,000 anything should not have four problems with it in less then a year. That's all.
Thank you for replying.
