Adding a heat outlet in the bathroom.

This may be covered somewhere else but I got tired of looking. Has anyone added a heat out let in their bathroom? Our 21QB has no heat outlet in the BR but has the foil heat duct passing through to the bedroom. It looks like I could just insert a tee in the ducting and attaching a dampened outlet. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks,
RichR

A completely different layout, but I did the exact same thing on our old hybrid except in reverse. Our trailer, a Starcraft 19CK had two furnace outlets, one in the front of the trailer and one in the bathroom. In cold weather, those two areas were warm but the rear half of the trailer was cold. The duct ran under the bathtub, so I used the access panel for the bathtub drain to get to the duct, where I put a tee and some flexible ducting to add another outlet toward the rear of the trailer. It worked well enough. IIRC, 4" ducting was the right size.

I would like to do the same thing in our current 24FBS, but the layout of the trailer doesn't allow it, unless I go through the floor, which I'm not about to do.

There is nothing stopping you from adding a T and finishing with a vent. I would suggest you use an adjustable vent cover in case your heater is not sized for the extra square feet you will have to heat. When not using the bathroom you could just close the vent.

As much as we love our Melbourne K MH, a design flaw we've found is that we don't have a heat vent in our bathroom, only an AC vent. We camp in very cool climates a lot, and it really is aggravating propping the door open; but sometimes our bathroom feels like a deep freeze in the middle of the night if we don't.

It would be a fairly simple mod to tee off the heat duct that runs through your bathroom. That's something Jayco should have done, anyway. Unfortunately, that's not possible with our 23RB.

In our 33rlds we had a vent and when the heater came on the bathroom got really hot. We had to open the roof vent so that we could stand it. I took one of those heat guys and measured the heat coming out of the vent and it was 124 degrees. The bedroom heat was 120 degrees. Our trailer had a real good heater.

Did you complete the mod? I have the exact same model and decided to make the mod.

It seems like the factory saved $5 by not doing it originally.

My two concerns, one is diverting too much air from the bedroom area, the other is the vent would be blowing directly on the toilet.

I have not, but the suggestions in the posts above are very good. A 4" tee to an adjustable vent like what the A/C has would be best. It can be opened or closed and turned in different directions. Someday I'll get my around-to-it put into action and install a vent.

Our TT has a very small duct in the bathroom that does not provide enough heat. I spoke with a HVAC mechanic to discuss the issues, adding a second duct, install a larger duct, etc. He explained that if I increased the size of the ducting and it increased the flow, the only possible concern would be the TT might "spread the heat" differently; dealt with by installing a adjustable louver. He said the only concern might be adding back pressure and when installing more flow that is not something to be concerned about. Bottom line, it might take a few more minutes to heat the entire trailer, but no other issues.

I'm trying to find the best parts for the job. On the 21QB the obvious to me location for the vent is next to the toilet. The second location would blow into the shower curtain.

I'll post pictures when I complete the mod.

I think I want to go with the next to the toilet location.

Me too. Sourcing the parts seems like the hardest part.
