Adding a window into a 184BH

Hi All!

Has anyone added an extra window into the upper bunk section of a 184BH? I’d like to install one as it gets pretty hot up there in the summer. It’s also become a fight between the kids- who gets the bed with the window?!

I have the same issue with the upper bunk. Have you installed a window yet? Looking forward to hearing from you.

I don't know if anyone has looked at this since Jan of this year... but I'd really like to know this as well. We have a 154BH (2016) and I want to do the same, for the exact same reason. Kind of ridiculous actually that there isn't one already. I've tried sleeping up there and it's like being in a coffin! There's ZERO air flow.

Has anyone done this yet? I bet it's pretty darn easy. If no one responds, I'm gonna tackle it anyway and I'll post on here my results.

Looks like this guy did it in his bathroom (Jayco too!) without issue. This looks pretty darn easy.

I'll just say one thing, I noticed this window says it's "RV Exit Window" and looks to be the same style as the existing one we have. I'm guessing it's for liability reasons Jayco didn't install one on the upper bunk by default. I'm gonna do it anyway.

I did iy

I bit the bullet and did it. I installed the window in the upper bunk. I cut out two studs, I did replace them. It looked like hell in the beginning but I guess the finish product is what matters. Here are some pics, if you have any questions about what I did just ask. I still have the blueprints of the wall if you want a copy.

Awesome. I'll happily take the blueprints for the wall if you have them still. How/why did you cut 2 studs? Did you not realize they were there? Do you have any photos of that? Also how did you replace them?

Thanks!

Just curious if you added any framing into the wall?
