Advice needed: Lap sealant, roof caulk, RV protection

I brought my two year old Whitehawk in for service and the tech suggested I needed to seal the lap joint around bottom of the trailer, needed to apply a UV protective coat to the roof and caulk around all the openings on the roof.

We use the trailer in Indiana and wrap it in the winter. When I inspected the roof and the lap joint I didn't see any cracks. Do people automatically make these "repairs" annually or only when problems are seen?

Best brands to use for sealing and RV protection?

The roof doesn't "NEED" any UV protection, the manufacturers say just to clean it regularly. SPIC & SPAN and a medium stiff brush should do the job, other's use Dawn. Just be careful since it gets sick.

Do yourself a favor and buy a roll of ETERNABOND tape to seal over all the caulk and you won't have to worry about that again for years. You will still need to inspect the roof, but ETERNABOND says it's good for about 15 years.

I inspect the roof twice a year and everything else once in the spring. Fix what is needed.

Dicor self levelling lap sealant for the roof. I wipe the area needing repair with a little denatured alcohol and apply sealant over the top.

OSI Quad sealant from a big box store for everything non roof.

I have not used a UV protestant, so can't speak to their usefulness. Not too expensive if you do the labor.
