Air Bags

I have a new 2020 GMC 1500 pick up! It's a 4x4 with Rancho shock 's and it has a great ride!
On this truck versus my 2012 GMC it appears to pull down the rear more and with gear you can defiantly see it!
When traveling down the road it rides nice no issues although the front of the truck looks like it's riding a tad taller and of course it would with full tank of fuel and gear!
My question is would it be advisable to add air bags to my rig? I never added them with my last truck or have any issues with my 21 foot bass boat!

Appreciate you advise!
thanks
Rick

I am a fan of bags. I had them on my F150 and now have them on my F250. They don't increase payload but they do help level the truck under load. I did have to adjust my Weight Distributing Hitch as the rise in the rear skewed the setup. I like having air bags even when I load the truck without a trailer. I have the on board compressor setup so I can adjust on the fly.

What does something like run? Did you have it done at the dealer or tire shop?
thanks

I just installed the air lift 2000'swith the wireless compressor in my 2018 f150. I think all in I was 700 bucks and a half day for bag install and half day for the wireless compressor system. Now you can do without wireless but I wanted the ease of being able to adjust when driving. The also have a non wirelwss compressor option but thought the extra money was worth it. I was able to tell the difference right away while towing when I inflated them. Stiffened the ride right up taking out the bounce. One thing I learned and others can chime in is to not get the air lift 5000 or similar size as it is too much for a half ton but others can chime in. I was able to mount the wireless compressor under the back gold up seat too keeping it out of the elements

I installed mine myself as well. I agree just around $650 - $700 complete...

You don't mention if you have or use a WDH? If no, look to get one. If yes, look to dial it in better.

Go to the CAT scales a get your axle weights. After doing all that, if you are not happy, then look at bags.

I installed my own Firestone airbags without the compressor. I got them for about $275 plus tax for my 2012 Toyota Tundra Crewmax two years ago. It was a 3 on a scale of 10 in degree of difficulty. If you aren't too mechanical, maybe closer to an 8. It took about an hour.

air bags

ok so for the sake of debate would stiffer springs be a consideration and if so would I loose my smooth ride when not towing?
I'm leaning towards the air bags but thought I would get thought on a stiffer spring!
thanks again for your input~
