Air intake for furnace

Was thinking about putting a furnace filter on the air intake for the furnace. Anybody ever do this. Our dog sheds a little and I don't want to get his fur into where the furnace is and then maybe clog something up.. Any input would be appreciated. Thanx Ernie

We don't have a dog but do plan on putting a filter on the air intake when we get home. We rarely use our furnace, we have a fireplace, an electric heater, and a propane heater. They are all quieter and more efficient than the furnace.

As long as you don't restrict the air intake to the burner section you should be fine.

Air for the burner should be comming from outside.

I know that the filter will not restrict the air flow. I did put a filter on my other tt. but had a bigger opening. I just don't like the dog hair getting into where the furnace is. Thanx for the replays everybody. Later Ernie
