Every time I think I might want one I go look at them at RV shows. Then reality sets in. Wife hates the aluminum insides. The ones that're finished off inside are too $$$$ for us.
I'd have no problem buying a 5-7 year old one. Probably in better shaoe than most all 5-7 year old TT's or 5er's.
If you've ever watched any of the Colonial Airstream videos you come away impressed by all the behind the scenes build quality. Yeah they have problems and some of that is due to the fact that they use many of the same components that Everyone else uses.

My grandfather owned one for a short time in the mid-60's. Think it was probably the first trailer I was ever inside; probably 4-5 at the time. He was a DIY guy (Firefighter, RCAF Flying Officer) and hated it. Couldn't hammer a bloody nail in the wall to hang a picture.

I think it lasted one season before he went back to a classic stick and tin trailer. They were real trailer people too, retired to BC and opened a trailer park in the Okanagan valley.

However, I often wonder if that trailer is still on the road somewhere. There is a very good chance it is still going.
