aluminum rims

Hey,
I'm super excited to be ordering a 28bhbe Jay Flight and have been going through all the options I'd have to pay extra for. One that I'm undecided on is the aluminum rims. They add 300 bucks to the order. I still can't figure out what kind of rims it will come with if I don't pay for the aluminum and whether it matters. What do you think?

Standard is the white steel wheels. They’re functional, and look fine with an aluminum sided trailer. Personally, I think they look a little mismatched on a smooth side trailer.

You would like the looks of the alum. and they will never rust. You can't buy a set for $300.00

We use to have a regular on board, who was a transporter. He said he could really tell the difference between a tt with aluminum and steel wheels. He said the aluminum rimmed wheels towed alot better.

Unfortunately I cannot search function frim my phone. But I think his name was Greeny or something simular. He has not post in 2.5+ years.

I passed on them at the time I ordered my 38FDDS simply because the trailer went directly to a seasonal site in April of 2016 and has been there ever since (with wheels covered). If I was going to haul it around, I think I would have gotten them. I think they're worth the extra $300..

get steel ones after you have it for 3 or so years and are getting new tires just buy new ones with the tires and you will get a better deal as a set.. Discount tire or any one that sells sets... and you can get cool ones too! maybe some bead lockers

If you can find out what weight rating each wheel type is rated, should you ever want to go to a tire that calls for 80psi that wheel capacity could sway your choice. 2,830 I think is the stamp you are looking for to hold 80psi with a matched valve stem.

Get the option of Aluminum. You will never get 4 at that price. The spare will be steel.

I'm sure my aluminum wheels were part of the Elite package. It's too bad Jayco has dropped these option packages, now it's a-la-carte.

BTW, in my opinion, the aluminum wheels really make the trailer more high-end. The white steelies make the whole trailer look more low end, base model.

We ordered the aluminum wheels on our 28BHBE. They look considerably better and for only $300 was worth the money. The Wheels are rated to 80 psi pressure.

I vote for the aluminum rims. No rust (you will get rust on the steel one if you haul in the Northern states where they treat the roads) and as many have said you won't be able to buy aftermarkets for $300.
