Andersen WD hitch

Any users of the Andersen WD hitch with their TT? Your comments/thoughts on it? As good as they say in controlling sway etc?

Thanks.

Andersen wd hitch

We pulled a 21 ft trail lit 8500 miles to AK. and back using an Andersen wd hitch.
I liked it, no major problems with sway in cross winds. Easy to use.
I still have it.
We now have a X23B and use an equalizer hitch I like this one also.

Thanks Bob.

Any reason you are not using with the X23B?

I'm using it with my 195RB Baja and really like it. We pulled almost 4000 miles this last summer including about 2400 miles through the south west in a variety of weather conditions. No problems at all with sway - very stable when the semi's are flying by. It's also very easy to hook up and disconnect. I will note that I did get the brackets tack-welded to prevent slipping.

Andersen hitch

Ken
The equalizer hitch came with our new used x23b (2011)with the brackets already mounted on the camper. I thought about mounting my Andersen but decided to give the equalizer hitch a try.
The equalizer hitch (about 82 lbs) is heavier than the Andersen hitch but I like it. What camper do you have?

We use it with our F-150 and X213. Works great for us. We do have more threads showing than the manual implies is required.

JMO from reading a lot of reviews is that it's best suited for lighter tongue weights with 1/2 ton trucks and SUVs. For 3/4 tons and up a heavier tongue weight is fine. Issue is that the Andersen has trouble transferring a lot of tongue weight back to the front wheels.
I used one with a 31', 7200lb TT with a 900+lb TW and a 2012 Ram 2500 CC LB CTD. Worked great in that application.
I too welded my frame brackets.
Lots of good reading on the Airstream forum.

We bought the Andersen for our KZ Jag two plus years ago and moved it to our 2015 White Hawk 20 MRB because it worked so well with the KZ.

From Washington state to Michigan in 2014 and back and then Washington to Ohio & back this last summer. Had some minor parts issues, contacted Andersen and received personal customer service.
