Another Leak in my 2019 Jayco 242BHS

Hi All,

Has anyone had issues with water entering the trailer where the wires for the power awning enter the trailer. For starters the hole that was cut into the siding is way too large and partially exposed without any caulking and the caulking or sealant that was used to seal around the wires does not even fully cover the hole. We've already had the front of the trailer completely taken apart because there was a 12" section between the panels that was not sealed up properly from the manufacturer and water made its way into the trailer. We purchased a Jayco because we thought we were getting a quality travel trailer but have had nothing but terrible luck. This trailer was purchased second hand the previous owner is denying that he has had any water enter.

This is poor quality control on Jayco's part, however, we are out of warranty. We are debating selling the trailer at this point as we've only owned the camper for 2 weeks and have already found two leaks. Not impressed.

There was a puddle of water on the interior of the trailer behind where the awning is attached so I can only assume that the insulation is saturated and the paneling needs to now come off. Has anyone reached out to Jayco about issues outside of warranty before and had any luck?

We're very fed up with this trailer and likely going to sell it as these issues are getting out of hand and very costly.

You can try jayco. But it will probably be a waste of time. The warranty does not transfer to a new owner even if the trailer was less than 2 years old.

Thanks. I figured they would be pretty useless. Appears we got a lemon or Jayco's quality control is just non-existent. I don't think we will be purchasing another Jayco after this experience.
