Covers is not an acceptable answer to your leak. You need a real dealer and tech crew. If they can't fix it they need to take it back to the factory on their dime and install a new slide.

My response would have been; "Well then, it looks like you guys will be doing a "pressurized leak test" with the slides in, and with them out."

First of allI agree with the others, cannot find the leak is not a good answer. Second Ernie, I had slide toppers put on my 33rlds and it only cost us $1500.00. Also if you didn't know the slide topper that will be going on the door side slide will not cover the slide like it should, reason being the awning passes about 2 inches away from the slide. My door side slide topper does not cover the whole slide but does cover most of it. The slide topper should extend over both ends of the slide about 4-6 inches and mine goes to the actual end of the slide by the door. I also could see daylight on my slide at the top of the door slide when the slide was closed. By the way my slide topper are carefree. I hope you get this resolved.

The dealer called today & the tech couldn't find the slide leak. The tech's answer to our problem is that we need slide out covers. They will install them for $1871.66, that price includes our discount.
Also one of the slide motors needs to be replaced.
Fixing the leak by adding slide toppers would be like fixing a water leak in a vehicle by adding a can of Stop Leak to the coolant. When you have a leak, you find it, even though at times this can prove difficult. I agree you should continue to pursue this until resolved to your satisfaction.

on my long slides the toppers have water that run off the end of it and then follows the bottom back about 6-8 inches then drops onto the slide roof. Adding toppers will not keep water off of slide roof at all. And the toppers were a $950.oo dollar option. having them installed by dealer would be higher a lot higher so maybe the 18oo price tag isn't that bad

I spoke with Jayco Customer Service & they have authorized me to take my trailer to a non Jayco Rv repair shop to have the leak and other repairs done correctly.
I also spoke with the owner of the shop where I will be taking my trailer in for repairs. They will do a pressure test to find the leak . They pressurise the inside of the trailer and soap around the outslide of the slides and look for air bubbles.

Good deal! Hopefully there is someone nearby that can get you all fixed up. A good RV mechanic can make all the difference in the world. Keep us updated.

Ernie,

Hopefully the new RV service facility will bring some closure to your warranty issues.

Advise the new RV service center that you have a following of curious "on-line" RV owners, and that we are always looking for professional/tech savvy places to take our RV's

Bob

I hope so, we would like to enjoy our trailer and not have to worry.
A friend had his motor home fixed at this facility & was very happy with the work.

Good luck with the repairs, Ernie. You deserve a break after all the aggravation you endured!
