Any tips on lining up the ball under the hitch when alone?

I tried searching the forum but couldn't come up with anything on this. Does anyone have any tips when hooking up the TT alone on how to line up the ball under the hitch without a lot of trips to get out and see where you are?

I solo hookup 100% of the time... IF you do not want to go to the expense of a back up camera (well worth the $$$) here is what I used to do.. On the center of your tailgate put a bit of tape or better still a paint marking you can see.. then on the RV do the same (when you are hooked up) make sure the 2 line up after that when backing in just match the 2 marks and you will always be right on the money... the marks have to be just big enough that you can see them from the cab.. I tried the magnetic balls on a stick and found this worked better.. You can disguise the mark on the trailer with a small decal of some kind.. just use the tape first so you are right on then apply the decal.

For $80 for a magnetic camera and monitor, I'm happy. Works great.
