Anyone know what these are?

We just purchased a 2018 Jay feather X213, new. The salesman and technician both told us they didn’t know what these items in the ceiling are for. My husband called Jayco, they also were unable to give us an answer. The hooks are in the ceiling of the rear slide, the cone shaped hookup is in the ceiling of the trailer itself. Please help us solve the mystery! Thank you!

Probably to hang a bunk fan/ light. The cone is probably the 12v power jack.

Thank you! We assumed it had something to do with a light, but when nobody could tell us, we weren't sure. I appreciate the help!

Another reason salesman have a bad rep. You have to know what you are selling!

X2, I am surprised the sales rep did not have a clue. These have been in PUs and HTTs for over a decade.

The little clips, I have no clue, but I suspect there is a special light/fan combo that connects to them. Our light snaps onto the tent end bar.

There are threads on JOF that show pics of a fan or light hanging there. Seems like in the pop up section.

The TT didn't come with a fan/light? Our 2006 Hybrid TT had 3 fold down beds. Each bed had the same 12v outlet. The fan linked to on eBay is what our camper came with. Three came with the HTT, 1 for each bunk. They connected to the rod at the top of the bunk end.

Kind of scary the dealer didn't know what they were for. Even scarier that he didn't offer to find out what it was. Check with Jayco, I would think the TT would come with the fan/light.

Except that this is an X213 and doesn't have shepherd's poles. The bunk is in a hard shell slide out.

I do think the clips in the ceiling for probably for the light clips (instead of the pole), but they don't appear to be as big around as a shep. pole. There are two so that you can clip the light tighter to the ceiling with the two clips on the back side of the fan housing.

my thoughts exactly..... i knew what it was the minute i looked at the photo. In the early days, the portable fan/light used to plug into the side of the ceiling lights, hang on the Shephards pole. Now, they've gone to the cone for the electrical, and the strikers in the ceiling are to hang the fan ......

Ding ding ding!! Never again!! They just happened to be the only dealer within 5 hours with the model we wanted, unfortunately. Same said salesman also showed our “sold” camper to another customer right before we arrived for pickup...and tried to put the hard slide in without putting the couch down and broke the wooden fascia around the slide out. So we had to have it fixed already. Thanks again for solving the mystery, we were shocked nobody could tell us, and also surprised it didn’t come with a light/fan.
