I'm not on the lowest shank position, one up from it. Wouldn't lowering the shank transfer more weight to the rear axle?

I have also noticed that adding that sixth washer makes it harder to disconnect trailer. The head is greased properly. When trailer is parked on incline, which many campsl sites are I am having trouble. Last week I was having trouble and when I disconnected the trailer jumped forward and struck the shank upon disconnecting. Luckily no damage. I did not have this problem with 5 washers. This is probably due to the tilting of the head from the washers....the saga continues.

Jsallman-what is your coupler height? I called Jayco today to confirm mine and they told me 25." I measured to the top of my hitch head and it is about 24 1/4," which I think would be ideal since it is slightly lower than the coupler height???

Sent the information to Equalizer and they suggested moving the hitch head up one hole? More confused now than before!

When I measured mine level for the original equalizer setup on an asphalt road it was 22.25 from my notes. I have also measured it at closer to 23.5, but it was on gravel so thats not real accurate

I threw a level both on the bars and the tongue today, both are right on the edge of the center line slightly nose down, the weight distribution bars perhaps just a hair more.

I personally like the trailer at absolute level, or slightly nose down, you can stop for a quick overnight camp and leave it on the truck that way, just lift it a hair (less than we normally do to put the bars on) with the tongue jack. If its nose high, you have to unhook, or run the front of the truck up on blocks. I don't think the weight would be much more appreciable on the back of the truck, if you had water and the water ran to the front of the tanks closer to the hitch, yes a little, but most of the weight in your trailer is fixed in a certain spot. i also don't think your going to be near the payload on your truck having a 2500. Would be an interesting scale comparison however.

The holes on the shank are 1.25 change I believe, so if your at 24.25 now you would go to 23 if you lowered.

Thanks for the insight again. Any clue why they would suggest moving up one hole which would put me above the coupler height? Any recommendations for a cheap torque wrench that can reach 350lbs? Don't want to keep bother co-worker with adjustments. I plan on just messing around with various adjustments and washer setups.

I bought a large cheater bar and plan to Calculate how far out I need to apply my weight on it (taking the weight of the bar into account too) to get that 350ish torque. Now thst I have the wrench I can also tighten as part of annual maintenance. The wrenches going that high arent cheap. You might check out auto parts rental shops but I wasnt able to find one foing that high in my area.

Most of the shops use impacts, they are very inprecise as well is my thought.

Just bought one from Harbor Freight for 79.00! Goes up to 300...should be close enough.

Also a note on the impact wrenches, my dealer did the same thing for my WDH install. I suspected that it was not to specs. When my buddy put the torque wrench on it, was only torqued to 150! Check your bolts those of you who had the dealer install.

I'm a bit late to the party here, and perhaps you've already addressed this, but, the red text is wrong. If you ADD a washer, you're transferring MORE weight to the front axle of the truck. If you raise the spring bar hangers, you're transferring MORE weight to the front axle.

If you were able to return your front axle to unloaded height, you should be really close. If I had your measurements (trailer level or slightly nose down, bars parallel to trailer frame, front fender returned to unloaded height) I would go weigh it and see where you are. I'm betting you'll be pretty close to where you should be.
