Applying Dicor Non-sag caulking

Doing some repairs and preventative maintenance on my TT. On the top horizontal surfaces I am using Dicor self leveling. . .easy peasy. On vertical surfaces (drip rail, ladder mounting plates, over doors/windows) I will use Dicor non-sag. Can I apply this like I usually apply caulking around bathtub tile, or plumbing fixtures where I lay down the bead then smooth it out with my dampened finger? I'm used to acrylic/silicon based caulking and this technique produces nice smooth results. Not sure if I can do this with Dicor. Also, do you all remove the old caulking? Or just clean well and apply new bead over it?

My experience with the No-Sag Dicor is it's not that easy to smooth out even with a dampened finger. What I did with our 195RB when I used the no-sag to reseal around the running lights and other fixtures is to tape off the area with blue painters tape before applying the Dicor, then dampened my finger with a little soapy water which seemed to work better than just plain water. This allows you to fill in any gaps around the fixture without having the Dicor spread out too far. I also wore latex or nitrile gloves as it can be a pain to get off the skin.
