Jayco has acknowledged the tank was NOT frozen and has covered the replacement under warranty due to a "production" flaw. So, this was not related to freezing.

Their video -> http://youtu.be/NFlENlxLAZU certainly gives no warning or even a caution regarding length of time exposed to freezing. "Jayco has you covered!" That's the message.

In a time of full disclosure, you would think they would ethically disclose limitations in their advertising. Hey, you're right though, we have to READ the warranty because like a used car salesman we can't rely on what they say.

Pennsy. No matter how you spin it when a tank falls out of its mounting brackets, then you are shipped the wrong replacement tank and your furnace melts the vent. THAT IT IS THE MAUFACTURERS FAULT

Beg pardon but I watched the video and clearly heard them say it was exposed to 0 temps for 8 hours. Lets be a little cautious about making claims and accusations w/o getting to the facts first. It sounds like Jayco is stepping up to the plate with the problem. Please keep us posted on the outcome.

Thanks. Jayco has determined it was not due to freezing and is covering the repair under warranty. So they agree, it was a "production" problem. BTW how long is an "extended camping season". Gotta read the fine print cause you can't believe what you hear.

Sorry to be a little snippy, you said the tank froze so that was the reason for my comment. As to the video it clearly states it was tested at 0 for 8 hours and 100 degrees for 8 hours.

There are 100's of PINNACLES on the road and as we all have said someone will get one with issues, that doesn't mean JAYCO makes a bad product as you insinuated. They admited there was a problem and are fixing it no questions ask.

As to the wrong tank beiing shipped the first time, there are at least 2 if not 3 grey tanks on most Pinnacles so that is a mistake that can happen.

Of course your right. From that I should have known that they strictly limited their bravado to eight hours. Any reasonable person would pick that up. Sorry I didn't see that as a limitation. I stupidly assumed they were trying to sell a feature that "Jayco has you covered!" OF COURSE THEY ONLY MEANT EIGHT HOURS DUH!

Oh trust me, I believe mistakes can happen. I'm paying the price for their mistakes. Of course that should not be a surprise right?

The post said "Kitchen gray tank froze maybe." I never said they make a bad product but I think buyers should BEWARE and know these things are happening. Oh and shipping the wrong tank...yeah why should anybody get upset over that? I guess it's like one potato two potato, sometimes you get the right one, sometimes you don't. These things happen and diligence should not be expected....all the time. GOOD POINT !

Our experience with Jayco has been completely positive. So I would think Jayco could determine, via good record keeping practices, what tank was being used on date of production or by serial number or VIN. I can't imagine an installer could simply grab a tank from random bins of same. Maybe someone just didn't make an effort to check.
