Aux Battery Hookup help

I disconnected by aux battery for winter storage. No problems. When I removed the battery I looked at the cables and I am sure (old age may be playing games on me) that the positive end of the battery was connect to a black cable, and the white cable with a red connector was connected to the negative terminal of the battery. Could this be correct? I thought that red goes to the positive terminal? I wished I had taken a picture before I disconnected the battery.

In automotive applications, red is positive. On RVs though, I believe it differs by manufacturer. I think you are correct, that yours is black positive, and white negative. The thinking is that it's wired like a house... black is hot, and white is neutral.

It's possible!! If you have a meter, set it for "Ohm" reading. Take a reading of the cables and find which one is "Ground". The one that is ground will have a reading of 0 (zero Ohms) and the other will read "OL". You may want to label that cable or put some black electrical tape on the cable that is ground.
Place one lead on the cable and touch the other to a clean ground on the tongue. Anything that is not painted. You can use one of the bolts one the tongue jack. It will read zero ohms ("0") or anything close to zero such as 20 Ohms.
Good Luck!!!
