Awning again outside shower

So for those of you with the electric awnings. Who's bangs then releases when extending out. Does anyone know away to stop it. Is it hurting the awning. Second good water pressure to camper. Outside shower not working great not sure why any thoughts.

The shower probably has some junk in the head blocking the flow. Take it apart and blow it out. I have a manual awning so no help there. Just be sure your travel clamps are unclipped

It sound like there is a spot(s) in the awnings travel where it's hard to get past, and then the power overcomes it. See if you can find that spot. I use dry lube on my awning tracks and pivot points and it the works real smooth.

As far as the shower goes, I would look for kinks first, and then take it apart at the connections and look for an obstruction. (... could be as simple as a seal that not seated properly.) Also, check the shower head for obstruction. Good luck.

My awning goes out okay, but the motor seems to lug at certain points when it's coming in. I'm going to lube the tracks to see if that helps, but I think it's also the way it rolls as it seems to go up as it starts in/out.

Our's does. It takes a sec for the hyd springs to push the arms out once the fabric starts to unwind. We have a Carefree, I know they are also using Dometic.

We dry lube our awning every trip out as well. As On The GO stated, dry lube basically every thing that moves. The awning tracks that are mounted to the side of the camper are especially important. We have the Carefree electric.

My outside shower sucked. Just for giggles I took off the inside shower head and installed outside. Much better! Went to the dealer to purchase a second indoor shower head, was told they no longer make them!

As for the awning, I was told to dry lube all the moving parts as well. Had one issue once, not since.

On every RV we've had in the last 10 years with elect awning they are never adjusted correctly by dealer or factory.
If your awning sticks straight out, as in flat when extended, it needs to be adjusted down so that it has a nice slope to it. I leave one end with a little less slope for the rain to run off better. Its called dippin....I strap the outside corners down to the picnic table or trees to keep from blowing up. I also keep 5 gallon buckets to fill with water as anchor if necessary.

I have a Dometic and have the same problem. It sticks when I initially put it out.

I have the Dometic Electric Awning and mine too sticks/binds during initial extension (only the rear awning arm - the front rolls out just fine). I usually give it a little "push" while standing in the doorway to "help" it release, then it will roll out fine. Not sure what else to do to stop the "binding" - may try to spray dry silicone lube on the tracks as others have suggested to see if that helps.

I also get a "shower" when extending my electric awning. My previous 28' manual awning never did that (my only thought is maybe the electrics do not roll up as tight, and water is "wicking" in from the edges)

I have the Dometic power awning, and mine used to do exactly as the OP describes. It almost sounded like it would catch on something, then let loose and pop out into position. So, naturally, I lubed all the pivot points (silicone spray lube, careful not to get any on the roof) and it's been GTG ever since!

Thanks I will try lubing my awning and it is a domestic and sticks one end its annoying. Will try to change outside shower head. These electric awnings are more trouble then there worth. So mid my manual awning and being able to secure it when storms roll in.

You can secure the same way as the the old pull down. I just did mine today.

Mine did exactly the same thing yours does. Brand new trailer. Last trip out, I figured out (the hard way) what my problem was. I had the problem on the front pole near the front door. Anyway, it always sounded like it was getting stuck. I was opening it, got almost all the way out, and the arm slipped back down. The black adjustment knob had come loose. My assumption is the knob was slowly coming loose and finally gave way. I also assume that it was just slightly out of position and was getting stuck on the trailer. I just adjusted it back to where it was supposed to be and haven't heard the awning sticking anymore.

I was going to suggest the tightening knobs as well. Almost sounds like Someone forgot to loosen them before pulling in the Awning and so they were tight when extending. Now I make sure to loosen them off when retracting.

For the auto-awning, you do not loosen them. They stay locked all the time. I was commenting for my auto-awning. Were you talking about the manual type?

I have had this issue on both Jayco units I have owned. First was a Carefree and the shock arms rusted which made both retracting and extending hard. It would bind up then "bang" out and in. WD40 helped then the arms were replaced under waranty and I lubed them from the get go. No issues after that. Now the second unit with the Dometic had the same issue, but not rust. WD40 helped to get it going in and out, but had them replaced under waranty and now I put a high grade lube on them to avoid future issues. At one point on retracting with the old ones my support arm was bowed and quickly snapped back to straight with a "bang".

Point is, lube them and keep them lubed through the season to avoid issues.

Our awning is sticking like so many others makes a loud bang. Has not broken yet. Just another Jayco quality problem.
