Awning pull out strap...

Somehow,someway I rolled my awning up this morning and my strap must have rolled up within it..I cant even see it let alone grab hold of it.How can I now open my awning and retreive the strap???

just turn the tube by hand after you put the lever in open position

it must be right there. Did you put the awning away? Did you let go off the strap before it was done retracting?

You may be able to release the awning and pull it down a little by hand ( with a ladder ) and get the strap may be a two person job.
Pull down the bars down on each side.
I take it is a manual awning?

Yes I let go of it a second too soon
Yes its a manual awning...
Yes I personally have more trouble with my awning then any other part of camping!!!!
And YES I know its ME!!!!!!!

On YouTube, Search for Rob White, he has a number of videos. 1.Howto open a Carefree RV Awning and 2. How to close a Carefree RV Awning. Even the expert had trouble closing the awning so don't beat yourself up too much.

The strap broke on our small summer trailer and we had to pull the awning down with the arms until we could reach what was left of the strap. We now have a new one from Camping World.

I always stand on the step and pull the awning down at first by hand. Have never actually used the pole to grab the strap. It just seems easier for me, but then I'm pretty tall.
