Awning question

So I was looking at you tube. Allot of trailer now have the electric awning. Like my Eagle does, used to the manual one I could tie down. Now my question, what wind is to much for an electric awning. do you guys bring it in if you leave the camper for awhile.

I probably bring mine in (manual 12") if the winds gust 15mph.
I put the awning up if there's any chance of gusts. It it's calm and weather station deosn't predict any winds above 5mph, I'll leave it down for a couple hours.
If I am leaving the site for the day, I'll put the awning up.
I always lower one end verus the other. Runs the water off better and directs it towrds back of camper.

Yes Sir, every time we leave campsite or turn in for the night. I don't want to take any chances!!

We treat our electric awning the same way we did our manual awning. If we leave, we bring it in. We have seen many awnings damaged from a short pop up storm/wind.

I'd have to agree, only use the awning when needed and put it away if you leave or turn in for the night. We lost the awning on our popup by not following that advice.

Here's an awning tie down system I copied that worked out real well. Gives an added sense of security when wind does come up and allows you to ride out a little stronger weather. I do take my electric awning in if I'm away from the site for a period of time.
