Awning Question/Problem?

I have only used my '17 JaycoJayFlight 28BHBE a few times. We bought it used and we have only used the awning a couple times, so I just don't know if the following is ok, or a problem lurking?

Yesterday, cleaning the camper, I extended the electric awning to a point where there was about 8-12" of Fabric hanging, and when I let off the power switch, it continued to extend for another couple seconds. If I retracted it a few inches, it stays just fine, does not move. Only seems to do this (Extend a few extra seconds) when extending, and only when towards the maximum extended range.

Thanks;
Dustin

Does the same thing with my 2018 25BH. I thought it would extend too far when it did it the first time, just something to deal with I guess.

Dustin, my 28BHBE does the same thing if I let go of the switch just before it’s almost completely open. Has done it since new. It doesn’t over extend. We have used our camper quite a bit over these past 3 seasons (bought it new summer of 2016) and it’s a non-issue... assume it’s normal...

Our 2009 Greyhawk 31FS had a Colorado Carefree electric awning. It did not do what you are describing. It stopped as soon as we let off the switch. Perhaps that is normal on other brand awnings. I would contact the manufacturer of the awning to get their thoughts.

I have a carefreecolorado awning and I reached out to a local dealer. He stated this for my model of camper:
"That is normal for to go past full extension about a 1/2 a revolution and then roll back in to tighten up the fabric about a 1/2 to 1 turn."
