Awning won't extend

We have a Carefree of Colorado Longitude awning. We could not extend the awning and took it back to the dealer for repair. It worked about two times and now we cannot extend the awning again. The dealer said it was an electrical problem but they have fixed it. Has anyone had the same problem and can you share your solution. The trailer is a Jayco 265RLSW 2016. Thanks

I kinda had the same issue. I have a 2016 287BHSW that i went to open the awning and it would not open. It unrolled, but would not fold out. Brought it back to the dealer and it worked there. In the end i found out that it would not fold out because the trailer was slightly slanted and not level.

Awning won't extend

I experienced the same type of intermittent problem with my carefree awning. When I disassembled the motor side, I noticed that the gear lubricant had leaked out of the gear drive and was coating the electric motor. It would not run at all. I cleaned it with electrical contact spray and lubricated the gears with a high temp grease. I haven’t had a problem the last two summers.

First you have to get the name right it is Crappy of Colorado.. Their products and service stink... Now check all the electrical connections make sure every plug in point is tight.. that is a high demand motor and a loose connection will hamper the operation. Have you tried the emergency power cable that came with it? There are 2 metal "pins" on the outside of the motor cover attach the alligator clips one to each of them then run the wire to the battery One on + one on - if it does not work then reverse the wires on the battery.. if that fails then the motor is toast.. ( I have a collection of blown awning motors in my basement all from... you guessed it Crappy of Colorado)

Evidently, Jayco recently changed back over to Lippert/Solaris
At this point, I sort of wish I had my older HD Manual Awning. It had so much more beef!
These new ones are made pretty cheap and if there is any wind at all they get scary!
My older manual hung in there 15 years and I doubt these new ones can handle half that!
