Question Back Up Camera

Just bought a 2015 Jay Flight 24FBS.

Looking a good source/recommendations for a back up camera. Lots on Ebay.

I've been told wireless systems are not as good as wired ones.

Pulling with a 2016 RAM 1500 Crew Cab.

I purchased and installed a Furrion FOS48TAPK-BL Wireless High-Speed RV Observation

I purchased the observation unit because I wanted to use it while traveling to monitor bikes mounted on the back and traffic behind me along with backing-up.

I power the camera from the marker lights, so that I can turn on the camera from the tow vehicle by turning on the trucks lights.

I'm very happy with the camera and monitor.
I bought a mounting pad from Walmart to place the monitor on the dash.

Here's a couple YouTube videos on the camera.

Hope this is of some help.

I would partially agree with your statement, about the wireless system. We started out with an off-brand system, which turned out to be garbage. We returned it and went straight to the Voyager wireless system. And, after almost a year of towing and over 9,000 miles later, our Voyager wireless has thus far been flawless. The previous wireless system often lost connections, but the current one rarely loses connection.

We have a Jayco 35-foot 5th wheel. Hope this helps.

Just be sure to mount your rear trailer camera up as high as possible and point down at a sharp angle. This is to keep the camera from flaring up in the dark by approaching vehicles headlights...

I would do something like this google image photo...

I first read this to be a rear camera on the truck side. I got one on my new 2010 Ford truck and that is the greatest thing since sliced bread haha... Seeing your trailer hitch glide right over the truck hitch in one try is definitely the way to go haha...

I ordered my Furrion from Amazon also. It was easy to install and works great. No issues with wireless signal. I ended up ordering a mounting base to better secure the display on my dash as I could not get a good fit with just the bracket / suction cup it came with.

Received my Furrion wireless backup camera. Easy question. Wires from camera are black and red. Am I correct in assuming that red is the positive wire?

Which camera model did you purchase? My 2019 24RBS mount on the back of the trailer shows FOS48TA-BL for Observation; but Amazon also shows FOS05TASF (5"moniton) and other monitor sizes. Some comments lead me to the conclusion that the FOs05TASF is a newer version???

My Eagle 5th wheel wheel camp pre wired for a camera, so I ordered the Furion observation camera, and easily installed it in less than 30 min, has worked well so far. It is wireless and my 5er is 40’.

The Furion wireless system is nice, but also expensive. I bought the Autovox M1W and installed it in my TT and it works great.
