Need a new battery this year, whats a good brand and do i need to get deep cycle?

If you normally camp with hookups I wouldn't go deep cycle I would go dual purpose

The reasoning is deep cycle are meant to be drained and recharged ..... if you are boondocking this is ok .... if you go from hooked to tv charging to plugged in charging it doesn't help a deep cycle... dual purpose is a mix of deep cycle and starting which will be ok with regular charging

I'm not sure where you got your info but constant and frequent charging of a deep cycle battery does absolutely no harm whatsoever. I would always go deep cycle unless you need a sudden surge of high amp demand like you get when starting a car or truck in the cold. For house use I would always use a true deep cycle.
I don't even know what a "dual use" battery is but suspect it is just a marketing label applied to a regular battery so they can charge a couple extra bucks for it.

Interstate batteries are considered one of the best. My Jayco has a marine/rv.

Actually the RV's come with a dual purpose battery, other wise known as a hybrid. They have thicker plates than a regular automotive battery but the plates are not as thick as a TRUE deep cycle battery. The RV/Marine batteries are in the Hybrid category. If you see an CCA rating on it is either an automotive or dual purpose battery... true deep cycle batteries do not have CCA ratings on them. The Interstate 85Ah battery is an example of a dual purpose battery.

Sounds kind of like a "jack of all trades and master of none" kind of battery. I can't imagine why anyone would want any kind of starting rated battery in a TT. Bass boat maybe but not a TT.

Trojan, Surrette Rolls, and Crown are all top rated batteries if you want to get a good one.
Then you have to decide if you want 12v or two six volts.
Group 24, 27, GC2
Flooded or AGM....

I was looking at the Interstate/Costco batteries the other day, you have to return them to Costco if you have a problem under warranty. They are even distributed by Costco.
I also wondered if they are the very same battery you get at an Interstate dealer or if they are made "special" for Costco.

Agree with previous post, this is very bad advice and the info is wrong. Going with a dual purpose battery is like taking a knife to a gun fight. It will get you from home to a CG where you plug in again, but has very little actual long term capacity and will have a much shorter life if used on an RV where occasional drawl down and recharge are a factor. The only advantage is cost, as dual purpose are generally cheaper to purchase and you can stick it in your tow vehicle in a pinch.
Get a true deep cycle.
