Battery

I have a jayco travel trailer with one battery. I don't do a lot of boon docking so one battery is fine with me. I was wondering what is the best battery to use. Im looking for longevity and reliability. Thanks

There might be a lot of different opinions here on your question. We're still using the original battery on out TT, but we don't boondock. Maybe we're on borrowed time, but our Group 24 Interstate battery will be 8 years old in the spring. It also lives on a BatteryTender in the winter.

Like JFlight said, longevity and reliability is more about how you take care of and maintain the battery, versus the brand. You can buy the top of the line battery, but if you fully discharge it multiple times and don't keep it charged correctly, it will fail just like a low end battery.

Also, understanding your power needs, and having the correct amount of capacity is important. It comes down to how you power your rig and what needs power.

Lastly, a digital voltmeter in your tool box, is your best friend.

Not sure what battery you have but JFlightRisk is right in saying keep your battery on a battery tender whenever it is not plugged into shore power. After that, if you are looking at replacement you should look at batteries in the search bar above.

If you are like me the battery is for emergency braking and very ocasssional single nights without power. A group 27 does it for me. If you have a the money an agm, 2 golf cart batteries, lithium are better but way more money.

I like AGM batteries because I don't have to worry about water levels. Keep them properly charged and they will last a long time.
