Are you asking what wattage draw the voltage converter will load on the generator? Most 30amp connection convertors will only draw about 500 watts @ full load. The 30amps is for 120v things like the AC, microwave, appliances, tv and such.

6.5 amps if I remember correctly for my 287BHS

You must have a WFCO-8945 converter, it is rated at 780watts. That is peak rating for when you are operating without storage battery and full load or charging in bulk mode. At 600 watts 12v power consumption, you still only take 5 amps. If you use less, it requires less to maintain battery power.

I think I have seen about 6 amps on the AC side. Battery charging current is likely in the 40-60 amp range, I have 2 group 27 batteries in parallel. I think the converter is a 60amp model.
