The converter is below the stove.
What do you mean by "convert"?
Normally you are on battery power anytime you are not connected to shore power. Your lights, water pump, radio, propane detector, refrigerator control and bathroom ceiling fan all use 12V all the time.

It's automatic. You don't need to do anything. When you are hooked up to shore power the converter supplies all the 12V power and charges the battery at the same time.

There are 2 fuses in the converter that are for the battery. They are green 30 amp fuses. one is a reverse polarity protection and the other is the main battery fuse. You might check these. However, you state the lights work when connected to the TV so these are probably OK. There may also be an inline fuse near the positive terminal at the battery. Check for that as well.
Since you are new to this I will volunteer this: At the battery WHITE is negative (-) and BLACK is positive (+).

Couldn't rest without checking it out. Previous owner had the negative battery cable disconnected. All good, thanks.

Simple thing to do between camping trips is to remove the main 30amp fuse up near the battery. This will prevent the parasitic loads
(Propane detector, radio, etc.) from draining the battery. Or, you can install a battery shut off switch.

Funny - ours is the same, too! No "red" cable to the battery! I picked up some coloured tape and marked the cables so there's no question which is which...
