Battery switch inside storage compartment

I have a brand new 2020 White Hawk 29BH. After it was delivered I set it up and noticed that the battery switch when turn to off does not disconnect the power inside the trailer the LED radio is still lit up. The RV Center said try it in the on position and see if the power disconnects but it does not so I had to disconnect the terminal on the battery. They are sending me a new battery disconnect switch just seems odd on a brand new camper anyone have any experience with a problem like this? Thank you

Makes me think they might have missed wiring it. Have you pulled it out to look at it?

Did you try turning on other 12 volt items, like lights, to see if they work in the "off" position?

Have found that some disconnect switches, do not fully disconnect everything. In the past, primarily with 5vers, if the rig has auto levelers, Jaycommand(??), a remote to move the slide and awning, the disconnect only turns off some of the power. Best to rewire to turn everything off.

Not a real disconnect switch

Noticed the same thing my JAYCOMMAND is always powered... I’ll either be rerouting or installing a true disconnect switch. The attached pic is how my current switch is installed... I haven’t investigated all three wires yet, but from what I know, there should only be two... I may just install the second one to that red wire (grounding issue?) that is seemingly jumping the disconnect intentionally. I’m guessing the JAYCOMMAND is fed by that.

I just received a letter in the mail about this disconnect switch that there is a recall. It says that I should take my camper to my dealer so they can look at it. But my camper is on blocked permanently on my property and the tires are removed. So that option is probably out and bring it to them

Stereo, LP, CO always stay connected on all RV's. I's to keep station preset memory working on the stereo and a safety feature for the LP and CO. Do not do anything until you investigate how that switch works. It has absolutely nothing to do with grounding as red and black wires are hot wires and not green or white grounds.

You may also find that after FULL battery disconnect, LCI landing gear may have to be rehomed. After removing my batteries, I received error messages (ERROR-RR, etc) while attempting to auto level. Had to "rehome" landing gear.

Good inputs, thanks. The battery terminal wires are black and red, I’m guessing that changes at the junction box... so does Jayco put their disconnect on the positive side? I guess I’ll find out. I’m going to isolate those wires and test the system. Of course that’s going to involve disconnecting the battery terminal connectors for safety when I’m messing with it the Jayco manual that I read last night actually says that the disconnect switch only cuts power to the 12v DC box, and some items are still powered. It also says that if you want a full disconnect, to remove the negative wire from the battery.

Disconnect switch should kill everything inside unit. Mine leaves the electric jack powered.
If switch didn't kill everything, you would wear battery down due to the stupid led lights on various things. Ask me how I know........
