Best RV insurance company

Looking at buying our first RV. We plan to buy a new model and would like input as to Best type of policy and insurance company. I’ve read that insurance companies that specialize in RV’s are a much better choice than our home and car insurance company we currently use.

Thank you for your input or advice

Congratulations on making the jump to an RV.
We have our insurance thru Good Sam. We really like the storage option when we park the trailer for the winter.

We had Blue Sky for years but they stopped issuing RV insurance. We liked them because of a couple things. Price was good and it was for full replacement of a new rig, not a prorated amount based on age, etc.

We're now with our State Farm agent but would look at other options if something was competitively priced and had full replacement.

We use Progressive and with the new camper, it is insured for replacement cost the first 2 years (I think) After that is insured for an agreed upon price which was the msrp from when it was new. This policy holds true as long as we own the camper and keep the same policy on it without a lapse.

We had Progressive for many years until earlier this year when they raised our rate by 25% so we shopped around once again and found the best price for us is with our current home and auto carrier by bundling.

I am using Safeco. It is replacement value insurance and cost me $33/mo on a Jayflight 26bhsw. I'm not saying it's the best but it was a better value than the others I had quoted. Mind you, I have also never had to use it. They are all good until the claims process.

I bundled it with my home/auto for with Allstate. Their rates went up to much the last few years, I guess Dennis Hassert and that other mutt on the commercials got a big raise!

I priced around and now have my autos and trailer with Liberty Mutual. So far I'm happy.
