Seriously though there was a thread about this not long ago where the general consensus was if your not using RV TP then make sure you use lots of water and flush your tank well.

There is a test to check the tp. Put one square in a jar add about 1 cup water, close jar, and shake for a short bit. Let site 30 minutes, if it desolves aka breaks down, it's good for the rv if not leave it at home.

I agree totally with Jagiven. It's not necessary to use "RV" TP. Make sure the TP will break down in water and remember water is your best friend when flushing. Use plenty of water!

The secret is to use lots of water when flushing. The brand of paper really doesn't matter very much.

ROTFLOL... stay far away from RV specific TP..
I always look for the words "Septic safe" on the packaging.. being a Costco member I find the Kirkland brand works best for me...

I use any single-ply tp I can find. Being single-ply makes it not so comfy but hey, it's poop.

I use the same s**t we use in the house. "Septic Safe" and passes the water-in-jar test.

Charmin Ultra is the DW's brand of choice at home. I ran it through the jar test just fine and now it serves our RV purposes as well. Life is too short to be using single ply!

TP

I hear that the Aussies use 80 grit sandpaper to make sure to get the "clingers" out.

Any kind you can buy will work just fine. Remember, your black tank is a "holding" tank and not a "septic" tank. You could do just fine with a Sears catalog if they still made them.

We made the mistake of using triple ply once... and only once. It didn't break down as fast and there was a bit of a clog when the tanks were dumped. We just use the same stuff we use st home and it works fine. DW is paranoid about having enough so there's always three or four rolls in the trailer.

Awww...three or four rolls is kid stuff..DW likes to have half a dozen....and she will never let me TP anybody's campsite. I thought that's why she brings it.
We've never used more than a roll and a half in a week long trip.
It's always septic safe though so that it dissolves in the holding tank.

Although I am in charge of dumping the tanks, the DW is in charge of all the solids that go into the black tank: From the food she selects and prepares to the TP.
