Best way to store your black tank between trips

What do you guys do with yor black tank between trips. Just came back from my first trip with my new trailer cleaned tank out and drained it empty and through a couple ounces of sanitizer. Do I need to keep a little water in it or drain it empty

Thanks
Chris

We keep a little water in there with the sanitizer, maybe a gallon or so.

After I dump it and clean it at the campground I add a few toilet bowls full of water and add a scoop of powder tide, and a scoop of water softener. I let this swish around for the ride home and leave it until the next trip. When I get to the campground I add 1 4oz treatment of TST orange power. It never smells and it keeps my sensors clean.

Lightbulb Black tank

We also leave a gallon of water and the proper amount of chemicals , i also purchase about 10 pounds of ice and pour it in the tank right before i pull out to go camping each time some say the ice swishes around and keeps the tank cleaner ,just a tip.

Sounds like a modified "Geo Method". Thanks for reminding me! I think I'll do this on the next trip and give the sensors a bath.

Not much of anything.

In the winter (in California, near the coast) I dump, flush and go.

In the summer, I dump, flush a little, add the non-toxic, biodegradable, no formaldehyde type black tank stuff and a bowl full of water.

Never had a problem.

(I am never going to do anything with what's in the tank except dump it, so IMHO, it really does not have to be all that "clean")
