Better Murphy Bed mattress

While my wife and I love our 23MRB, the mattress definitely leaves a lot to be desired. Anyone found a good quality replacement?

Go with a Zinus mattress! Just picked one up and it was a game changer for us! Another member recommended it and I'm glad he did! Amazon and check the reviews!

I just purchased mine used. The owner put a new memory foam type mattress on the Murphy. I cant tell you brand and what not. About 8 inch I'm guessing. Possibly 10. Super comfortable. Folds up fine

Do the Zinus matresses fold up like a Murphy bed style?

Which mattress did you get? Does the Murphy bed still close, apparently you don't need the split/hinge mattress, and do they sell a short queen? Thank you so much we have been trying to figure something out with no results and were so happy to see you found something that works!

I got a 2-3" foam topper for our and it was a night and day difference. For about $75 off amazon, it turned our mattress from a wooden plank to the most comfortable bed I've slept on. For what we did (camped ~30 nights per summer), it was perfect. For a full timer, then going all in on a new mattress probably makes more sense.

With our Alf trailer we just got a mattress foam topper from Costco. Had to trim a little off the bottom since the length is a little longer on the pad then the trailer mattress. But worked amazingly and the Murphy still folded up as it should.
