Bike Hitch Issue

Can I attach a 2" mount to attach a bike hitch right onto our bumper of our 27BHB? I've heard it negates the warranty if I do?
I'm trying to figure out a way to get 3 bikes loaded without using our truck bed and I have a 3 bike carrier already?

The issue, the bumpers are not very strong. There is a gizmo you can also add that strengthens the connection between the bumper and frame.

I strongly recommend finding a local welding shop, and have them custom fabricate a 2" receiver hitch to the frame. Typically it is not very costly to do.

+1 for this solution. Did to both of my previous trailers and plan to do it to my new one, though for now bikes over the tailgate is working like a charm.

I would like some idea of what it costs to have one fabricated and welded. Just so I can see if prices are reasonable.

thanks!

I paid under $500CAD for the 4x4 cross member welded to the frame as well as the receiver hitch. in that cost was also rearranging the battery mounting brackets and adding dual propane tank mount.

Note that the extra steel, receiver hitch, bike rack and bikes will add weight to your rear - unweighting your hitch. my old pop up needed the propane tanks full and the dual 6V batteries or the tongue was way too light to tow safely.
